When I began Caring Solutions, it was to make a difference in care for the elderly. Earlier in my life, I became the primary caregiver for my mother. An unexpected journey that lasted for five years. I had to take a leave of absence from my accounting job with a large firm and embarked on searching for in-home caregivers and agencies who could help me. My experience did not go well. Although there were some good agencies out there, I found many inconsistencies in the industry. After my mother passed, I went back to work. As I rode the elevator up to my office I realized that my heart was no longer in it. A new goal emerged. I wanted to establish a change in the industry of caregiving. I moved on to work for an agency that placed nursing assistants into homes for the elderly. THIS was clearly where I was meant to be. I learned all that I could from that agency but I saw many things I felt could be changed. I knew I could make a difference and that was the beginning of my mission. I set off to open my own agency in 2006 with the changes and the compassion that was necessary to keep our elderly family members safe and at home or wherever they choose to live. 17 years later I am immensely proud of my staff and the level of care and integrity that we offer.
